Expert Comments from Coaching Institutes
IMS India experts feel that XAT 2009 was lot difficult compared to last year. Most of the questions were time consuming. The sectional as well as overall cutoff is likely to be lower compared to last year.
The Verbal section had quite a few knowledge intensive questions based on concepts like figures of speech. The RC passages were dense and tough to assimilate. The Analytical and Decision Making section had a few LR based questions along with a few caselet based questions.
Couple of the case studies were comparatively easier and could be solved in quick time. The Quant section had a healthy mix of DI/DS and PS questions. The DI questions were mostly calculation-intensive. Most of the PS questions were based on the usual concept areas but were lengthy and time consuming in nature. Overall the questions required considerable use of logic, especially the VA/RC section and the Analytical/Decision-Making Section.
