Everyone knows the CAT exams are the toughest exam for MBA admission in India. From this year CAT examinations will be conducted online. This will be a 10 day affair at the end of the year. One definitive advantage of online tests is that any number of candidates can take the test without much administrative expenses from IIMs.
The format of the test is yet to to be decided. Its also not known if it will be computer adaptive test or a fixed test. GRE and GMAT use a bin of questions and present the questions randomly to the test takers. The questions are recycled and so are the bins. The tests will be conducted by Prometric.
Many coaching institutes like Career Launcher, Time etc have prepared them selves for the online version of CAT. Several online test prep site have mushroomed to capitalize the situation. Some of them online test prep centers are TenADay, TCY and TestFunda.

Tip of the week
GMAT Test Prep company Kaplan released a GMAT prep application on Facebook this week. The application named ‘The Qbank Challenge’ is a daily three-question timed quiz which can be used individually and also as a challenge test with peers, said Kaplan’s official statement.

The questions are provided from the coaching institute’s preparation material and are available for GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test), LSAT (Law School Admissions Test), MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) and NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination).
The most interesting things is that users can collect points by answering correctly and get them redeemed for the institute’s study material.
