CLAT 2009 aspirants got a rude shock when they came to know that the exam got postponed. The questions papers that were transported from Hyderabad to Lucknow were tampered. So the conveners of the exam took a decision to postpone the exam to May 31, 2009. The hall tickets and the venues will remain the same. We are happy to know that the authorities were swift enough to conduct the exam in 2 weeks.

This incident brings up a very important question regarding the process of conducting exams. CLAT question papers were transported in locked steel boxes through Blue Dart, but still it was tampered with. No doubt this caused a lot of inconvenience to the candidates. It is high time the authorities think of alternative like having multiple question papers ready or conducting exams online like GMAT/GRE. CAT exams will be conducted online from 2009.

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is conducted to select candidates to top 11 law schools like NLSIU (Bangalore), NALSAR (Hyderabad), NLIU (Bhopal), WBNUJS, (Kolkata), NLU (Jodhpur). This year 15,000 candidates have applied for the exam. There will be 200 objective questions in English, Maths, GK, Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. The exam will be for 2 hours.
