Nokia launches Education Life Tools across India
After a successful pilot in Maharashtra, Nokia has launched Life Tools across India. Nokia life tools is targeted to the non urban population of India (as well as Africa). The internet penetration in rural India is dismal. On the other had the mobile phone penetration isĀ steadily growing in urban as well as non-urban.
Nokia will be starting this service with the new model Nokia 2323 and 2330 classic. Nokia aims to remove the information constraints and help people take informed decision.
Nokia is trying to leverage the penetration of mobile network by providing basic services in three categories Agriculture, Entertainment and Education. This service comes with a subscription fee.

Nokia plans to deliver the content in local language. The languages that Nokia Life Tools will support are Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and English. In the category of Education there are 4 sections that customers can opt in for.
- Learn English (This will help subscribers to practice English through various levels of difficulty. The explanation will be provided in local language)
- General Knowledge (Daily dose of knowledge and current affairs)
- Test and Exam Preparation (Advice on various exams)
- Exam Results (National Exam Results will be delivered to the mobile)
Nokia will not be developing content for this service. It has partnered with EnableM for content. The subscription rate for the Educational Life Tools is Rs.30/month. Idea cellular will be the service provider.
