Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)
The Kendirya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act. The primary aim of the Sangathan is to provide, establish, endow, maintain control and manage the Kendriya Vidyalayas located all over India and abroad. There are 981 KV around India and abroad (Moscow, Kathmandu and Tehran).
The Sangathan has three tier management structure with its (I) Headquarters (II) Regional Offices managing a cluster about 45-50 schools and (III) Kendriya Vidyalayas spread all over the country and abroad each having their Vidyalaya Manangement Committees.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas have a 4 fold mission:
1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government.
2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education.
4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
The KVS has signed an MOU with the Microsoft to conduct the training of teachers and Principals in latest computer skills under ‘Project Shiksha’. KVS and Microsoft have become ‘Partners in Learning’. Under Partners in Learning, Microsoft is working with governments, ministries of education, and other key stakeholders to offer a spectrum of education resources including tools, programs and practices.
