DMA Bangalore Recruitment Exam Pattern & Syllabus



Online applications was invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Environmental Engineer /Jr.Engineer (Civil)/Jr. Engineer (Electrical)/Accountant/FDA/FGRI for urban local bodies of Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) by selection through Karnataka examination authority under Karnataka Civil Services.

Selection of candidates for all posts will be made through competitive examination. Examination will be conducted at District Centres by Karnataka Examination Authority. Candidates should mention name of the District Centres where they prefer to write the examination.

Examination for posts of Environmental Engineer and Junior Engineers will be conducted only at Bangalore Centre and candidates who have applied for other posts, along with these posts of engineers will write the exams in Bangalore only.

The examination will consist of two written papers, namely,-
1) a paper on General Knowledge and
2) a specific paper
The maximum marks for each paper will be 120. The questions in both the papers will be “Objective Multiple Choice Type”. The duration for each paper will be 2 hours.

* The paper on General Knowledge will normally confirm to the minimum standard relating to General Knowledge, expected of a student who has passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of a University and will cover questions on the Constitution of India, Indian History and Culture, General and Economic Geography of India, Current Events, every day science and such matters of every day observation as may be expected of an educated person.

* The candidates may answer this entire paper either in English or in Kannada but they shall not answer some questions in English and some in Kannada.

A) Environmental Engineer Post :
i) Paper-1 General Paper - 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
ii) Paper-2 Specific Paper – 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.

B) Junior Engineer (Civil) Post :
i) Paper-1 General Paper - 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
ii) Paper-2 Specific Paper – 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.

C) Junior Engineer (Electrical) Post:
i) Paper-1 General Paper - 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
ii) Paper-2 Specific Paper – 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.

D) Accountant Post :
i) Paper-1 General Paper - 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
ii) Paper-2 Specific Paper – 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.

E) First Division Assistant / First Grade Revenue Inspector Post :
i) Paper-1 General Paper - 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
ii) Paper-2 Specific Paper on General Kannada or General English – 120 Marks – duration 2 hours.
