Online Test Prep is gaining popularity in India
Online Test Prep services are slowly gaining popularity among Indians. This is based on an internet poll conducted by Parinama. 37% of the voters have used online test prep services.
Over 43% still use study guides and magazines to prepare. 37% of the voters are supplementing their preparation with online test prep services. This is especially with respective to competitive exams like Bank Tests, MBA etc. 33% depend on study materials from coaching center and 31% voted for lecture notes.
There is defintely a growing trend towards online test prep services. TCYOnline and TestFunda are pioneers among the lot. A quick glance at the alexa charts shows that these sites are slowly gaining traction.
Educomp has decided to enter into the multi-billion dollar industry of supplemental education industry using VSAT. They are planning to focus on under graduate test prep services for IIT, PMT, AIEEE and trhe like. IProf is another service in which test prep materials from Brilliant will have delivered over the net to a tablet.
